Embracing the Shift: Finding Balance in Seasonal Transitions

As the gardening season draws to a close, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the countless hours I’ve spent connecting with nature's life cycle. Tending to my garden has brought new experiences and immense joy. I've felt a deep connection to the rhythm of the seasons, witnessing the beauty of sprouting seeds in spring and nurturing the ecosystem throughout the summer.

I’ve noticed an unsettling energy in the air as summer begins to wane. I feel a sense of chaos because the daily gardening tasks that brough me joy are no longer necessary, and the time for the transition of plants to rest is here.

Connecting with Grief

I feel the shift in the morning as I watch my garden demonstrate a need to rest. The flowers are becoming long and stringy – no longer supported by their foundations. Their energy is also coming to completion. The emotion of grief has been heavy lately with my connection to nature. I’m curious…do you feel this too?

Grief of the life we had as a collective is shifting. I encourage you to be gentle with yourself as the planet transitions into a new season. It is a great time to check in with your foundations to ensure your routine fits with the these shifts.

I have spent time honoring the Earth, mindful of the cycle of give and take, with the intention of giving back to nature as nature has given to me. This reminds me of the importance of ensuring balance within my own energy cycle of give and take.

Ways to Support Your Transition into the Fall Season:

  • Embrace Seasonal Eating: Discover the seasonal foods available in your area! Did you know it’s beneficial to adjust your diet with the changing seasons? You can learn more about that here.

  • Express Your Creativity: Find a class that allows you to express your creativity through art, music, dance, yoga, meditation, spirituality, or movement.

  • Engage in Holistic Healing: Seek out holistic practices like massage therapy, sound baths, water floats, saunas, and light therapy. Get out and sweat!

  • Volunteer at an Animal Shelter: Offering your time at a local shelter can be incredibly rewarding.

  • Reevaluate Your Routine: Is there something in your routine that no longer resonates with you? Consider letting it go.

  • Make Time for Solitude: Have you plugged alone time into your schedule?

We are blessed with so many resources. May you feel supported in the upcoming shifts ahead.
